Business was always in the blood for Nicholas, but he knew he didn’t want to follow in his family's footsteps. He felt hospitality and the food industry calling out to him. Similarly, Tran has loved cooking since she was a little girl. It didn’t take either of them very long to decide to study commercial cookery at CDU.

Arriving in Australia as a backpacker from China, Samantha worked in restaurant kitchens to earn a living. The kindness of the chefs she worked with inspired her to take her next steps towards her dream career.

After spending time working in the hospitality industry during her gap year, Zoe decided it was time to upskill with a vocational training course in hospitality and event management. In just two years, she's finished three TAFE qualifications and is a finalist in the NT Training Awards. 

Someone called Leah a mature-age student. To which she exclaimed, “I’m not mature!” All joking aside, Leah Sloan’s journey to success has taken many turns. She’s been an airline lounge manager, a chef—and most recently—an employer of over a dozen staff in her tavern.

Experienced hotelier Pat made the move to the quiet city of Darwin from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok to study Commercial Cookery and Hospitality Management. Her dream is to become a hospitality entrepreneur.
