Burpees for mental health awareness: Bridie’s story

Burpee master, 2017 Northern Territory Young Australian of the Year and CDU Alumni, Bridie Duggan, is on a mission to raise awareness about mental illness prevention, and to spread the word about the positive impacts physical activity can have on mental health. She candidly shared with us how a personal tragedy inspired her to set Australia on the path to mental health wellbeing, all while gaining incredible success along the way.   

A kettlebell champion not weighed down by her studies

In fact, CDU student and Aussie kettlebell athlete Saga Wessman doesn't let anything stand in her way! Hear the inspiring story of this mentally and physically tough athlete and student. Saga Wessman represented Australia at the 2017 Kettlebell Lifting World Championships in South Korea (15-19 November) and studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science online at CDU. Before Saga took off for Seoul, we caught up with her and asked what motivates her along this journey. Sam Gleadhill is the guy you want to know if you are keen to get the most out of your exercise routine. He knows what he is talking about. He is a certified weightlifting and strength and conditioning coach, has completed his Certificate III and IV in fitness and also has a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science degree under his belt.
